With matching Crystal Inkwells bearing the same Silversmiths hallmarks for Henry Bushell & Co Birmingham along with the Inkwell Standish constructed of English Oak and Sterling Silver Handle made by the Silversmith Hammond Creake & Co London. Condition is in Extremely Fine condition for a antique matched and dated for c.1899, with age related wear the entire Inkwell Standish set is very solid ready for use or display, with clear dating & silversmith hallmarks. It is in Excellent condition with no effecting faults. The workmanship is a rare feature and should not disappoint. From the appeal, the finish has been restored with the English oak having been lacquered and all Sterling Silver components cleaned and polished for display or use. The draw works as should and holds a Sterling Silver knob. The matching crystal inkwells fit nicely to the standish recesses. Being a English Oak construction, it is normal to have differing silversmiths for the inkwells and standish. Hallmarks are very clear and correctly stamped for English Essay Offices. Such a set would have normally been used by an affluent family or business. This antique can be immediately used or displayed by the new owner knowing this Victorian era Solid Sterling Silver Hallmark Inkwell Standish Set will appreciate in value and is extremely well sort. Holding a wonderful character, appeal and displays as an authentic antique. Along with a very heavy weight of 1.3 Kgs the condition is 100% original as received. There are signs of use and handling with little rubbing to the hallmarks or the art nouveau appeal.
